Downham Hall coffee shop is located in our beautiful Orangery, now restored to its former glory, overlooking the north wing grounds and stunning Essex countryside. It is open daily to the public, serving locally sourced, fresh, home-made produce from 7am until 4.30pm.
Breakfast at Downham Hall
The Orangery is the perfect place for a great start to the day. With its glass roof and panoramic views, the Orangery easily has the best views at the Hall.
Served every day from 7am until 9.30am, our breakfast menu offers a selection of home-made cereals, fresh bread, eggs laid by our own chickens, sausage and bacon from a local butcher and a range of jams and marmalades. We also offer other well-known branded jams and condiments to suit every taste.
While our Full English breakfast often takes centre stage, for those wishing to fuel up for a busy day, our continental breakfast is not to be sneezed at. With homemade granola, fresh fruit salads, cheeses, hams, fruit juices and a selection of yoghurts, there is something for everyone on our menu.
We also offer filtered Columbian coffee and a wide range of teas, brewed to perfection in traditional tea-pots. Please ask us about our selection of teas.
Lunches at Downham Hall
Our coffee shop serves a wide selection of locally soured hot and cold lunches all year round, with no prior booking necessary.
In the summer, cool yourself down with a chilled drink served with ice, while enjoying the summer breeze coming in through the French doors. Or why not have lunch outside on our garden terrace while taking in the spectacular scenery? On wintery days, admire the beautiful misty fields from the warmth of the Orangery, while warming your fingers around a traditional pot of English breakfast or fruit tea. The perfect pit-stop after an invigorating walk in the countryside.
Our coffee shop serves a selection of delicious sandwiches, light bites and home-made. We can also cater for special dietary requirements. If you do have any dietary requests, please let us know ahead of your visit where possible, to allow us to source fresh produce. For a full list of our lunches, please contact us.
We can accommodate group bookings. If you wish to book our coffee shop for a larger group or meeting, please contact us on 01268 422 464 or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
