We had our wedding reception at Downham Hall in September and it was the most perfect day! The venue is so picturesque and having the wedding breakfast in the marquee was the best setting, with views looking out onto the pond and grounds just outside.
From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us and they accommodated every request we had without question, meaning we could enjoy our day completely without any worries. Debra (the wedding co-ordinator) was amazing, she helped plan the day and made sure we got everything we wanted, even ordering in Guinness for the night! In the lead up to the wedding we visited a few times for dinner and lunch, and Christina and Andrew would always say hello and ask if we were excited for the wedding, which was a nice personal touch and showed how much they cared.
The food at Downham Hall is always amazing, our favourite was the Amalfi lemon tart! They accommodated for all the food allergies and intolerances in our wedding party, I can't praise the chef highly enough!
Downham Hall is an amazing venue for any event, or just for a nice dinner out or afternoon tea, they can do it all!

They were so kind and attentive, every need taken care of. We also got to stay in the bridal suite which topped our day off, such beautiful views of the area. We got married at Downham Hall in July 2023 and would highly recommend as a wedding venue, or for any special occasion. The location, grounds, rooms and surrounding views are absolutely stunning. The service was outstanding, all the staff worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day and were always so helpful and informative throughout the planning process answering our many questions and requests. A special thanks should be mentioned to Debra (the wedding coordinator), Dawn, Christina, Zoe and Adrian who were all so lovely and welcoming.
The food was a real highlight, we are vegetarians and wanted our wedding catering to be completely meat free which they were more than happy to accommodate, allowing us to create our own completely bespoke menu. All the guests commented how delicious the food was and also massive portion sizes. Even the breakfast the next morning was plentiful and beautifully presented.
In fact the whole wedding package was very comprehensive, flexible and personal. If there’s something specific you want or don’t want nothing is too much trouble you just have to ask and Debra will make it happen! Other highlights include getting exclusive use of the whole venue, choice of where you want your ceremony and wedding breakfast, flexibility in catering and drinks package, access to the bridal dressing room, free car parking and overnight stay in the beautiful rooms.
I do feel like this place is still a bit of a gem so highly recommended you book a visit and see for yourself how beautiful this place is and if you do decide to have your wedding here you won’t regret it!

" We got married at Downham on 17th February 2024 and we cannot fault them! Christina, Debra, Ben and their team were excellent from start to finish. They welcomed us like family, which made our day even more special - nothing was too much for them! We chose Downham Hall because of its 'exclusive use' for our wedding and we are so glad we did! Our guests were so impressed and so many of them told us how lovely the staff were and accommodating and the venue beautiful! We had a truly magical day and cannot thank Downham enough! "

" We have been to Downham hall several times since we moved to the area. Their Sunday lunch is one of the best around, the quality of food here is exceptional. We loved the place so much that we decided to have our wedding here. Our wedding day was perfect and we were so well looked after by Debra throughout the whole planning process. The food on the day was amazing as usual and all the staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Debra and Christina who helped make sure that our day was perfect. The venue has beautiful surroundings, which many of our guests have commented on. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to host our families on our special day.
